About Us

Background & Structure

Ironstone Care is a UK-based provider of residential care for young people with emotional, social and behavioural needs, guided by a vision of creating “homes where every child can thrive”. Dedicated to fostering resilience, self-esteem and independence, Ironstone Care offers personalised care in a number of high-quality homes, creating a nurturing and homely environment centred on safeguarding, child-focused practices and individual rights.

Each home is structured to deliver intensive care, tailored to the unique needs of each child. Primarily offering long-term placements, Ironstone Care provides consistency and stability, helping young people achieve both personal and academic progress. The organisation also considers emergency or short-term placements when appropriate, carefully assessing each placement to match the needs of the child with the capabilities of our care team. Committed to building resilient teams, Ironstone Care continuously supports and develops its staff to meet the complex needs of each young person they serve.

Vision

At Ironstone Care, our vision is to provide local homes for local children. Our primary focus is on supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of children with emotional, social and behavioural needs. We are dedicated to nurturing the resilience, selfesteem, academic and vocational achievements, and independence of all children. We will achieve these goals by offering a nurturing and homely environment and building a strong culture of aspiration and safeguarding driven by children’s needs, rights, and voices.

We will provide placements for children through a small number of high-quality homes with a focus on individualised care. All homes provide personalised care ensuring children receive the level of support needed.

While we will primarily offer long-term placements to ensure consistent support and progress, we will consider emergency or short-term placements where appropriate. These decisions will be based on thorough impact and matching assessments conducted within the home. The organisation understands the support required for new established teams and this will be taken into account when considering any future placements for our homes and assessing the resilience and commitment of each staff team.
